Refund policy

1. Introduction

Megelea SA designs and manufactures each piece of jewellery to order. We take pride in the craftsmanship and quality of our creations. This policy explains when and how you may request a repair or replacement. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Nothing herein affects mandatory rights you may have under Swiss law.

2. Final Sale 

Because every piece is custom‑made or made to order, all sales are final. Once we have confirmed your order and begun production, you cannot cancel, return or exchange the item for a change of mind. Deposits and design fees are non‑refundable.

3. Manufacturing Defects

We stand behind our workmanship. If you believe your piece has a manufacturing defect, please notify us within 14 days of delivery by emailing info@maramegelea.com with your order number, a description of the issue and clear photographs.

Manufacturing defects include loose or missing small stones, defective prongs or faulty clasps but do not include normal wear and tear, accidental damage or damage resulting from modifications by another jeweller.

4. Inspection and Approval

Upon receiving your defect report we may ask you to send the item to us for inspection. Please wait for our authorisation before shipping. We will provide packing instructions and, if applicable, a prepaid, insured return labelmaramegelea.com. You must return the item in its original packaging and condition. Once we receive and examine the item, we will determine whether a defect exists.

5. Remedies

If we confirm a manufacturing defect, we will, at our discretion:

  • Repair the piece to correct the defect; or
  • Replace the piece with an identical or comparable item.

We do not offer refunds or exchanges for custom‑made items. If we cannot repair or replace the item, we may offer store credit or a refund equal to the price paid.

6. Conditions for Returns

  • Items returned without prior authorisation will not be accepted.
  • Returned items must include all original boxes, certificates and accessories.
  • You are responsible for the item until we receive it; we recommend you use insured, traceable shipping if we do not provide a label.
  • We reserve the right to refuse to repair or replace items that show signs of excessive wear, misuse or damage not attributable to a manufacturing defect.

7. Damages and Issues

Please inspect your jewellery upon delivery and report any shipping damage or discrepancies within 48 hours. Save all packaging materials and take photographs to assist in any claims.

8. Shipping Costs

For valid defect claims, we will cover the cost of return shipping and the shipment of the repaired or replaced item back to you. For any other returns (should we agree to them as a goodwill gesture), you will be responsible for all shipping costs, customs duties and taxes associated with the return.

9. Swiss Law and Statutory Rights

Swiss law does not provide a general right to return or cancel online purchases. Our refund & return policy is therefore limited to manufacturing defects as described above. This policy does not limit any mandatory rights you may have under Swiss consumer-protection laws.
